Social Worker- Multi Agency Child Protection Team
Overview
As part of Social Care reforms, Worcestershire County Council is developing its Children’s Family Front Door and introducing a multi-agency child protection team (MACPT) as part of our Family Front Door response pathway. The team will ensure children and young people are safeguarded and protected in a timely way, with decisions and investigations led by skilled practitioners with direct experience working with children, young people and families where significant harm is identified. The MACPT will carry out child protection investigations and safety planning, manage SUDi/C joint work with partners and MASH case discussions.
Role and responsibilities
As a 2 year post-qualifying social work practitioner with significant experience in child protection, you will:
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, attending strategy discussions and undertaking child protection enquiries until their conclusion.
* Make appropriate recommendations to ensure families receive timely and appropriate support and intervention to reduce risk and escalating needs.
* Support families via early help in the community or through the family help pathway, depending on needs and risks identified.
* Build strong, trusted relationships with community partners to enable timely responses to children in their communities.
* Work primarily within one of the three district areas: Redditch/Wychavon, Worcester/Malvern, and Bromsgrove/Wyre Forest.
* Be supported by two experienced Team Managers and include two Advanced Social Work Practitioners who provide guidance on complex child protection matters and promote a culture of learning and reflective practice.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Over 2 years post-qualifying social work experience with significant knowledge and experience of child protection.
* Sound knowledge of child protection practice and procedures, with the ability to apply levels of need guidance and strong partnership working to provide the right service at the right time.
Team and location
The MACPT will be led by two permanent Team Managers and will include two Advanced Social Work Practitioners. The role is based in an office location in Worcestershire, with responsibilities across specified district areas.
