Facilities/Customer Service Officer needed in Southampton starting ASAP. This role pays £13 per hour. It is a temp to maternity contract with hours from Mon-Fri 08:30-17:00.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
* Open/Close the building and maintain security levels, including building sweeps when closing.
* Manage reception desk and cover reception as part of a rota, including weekends and evenings.
* Conduct regular building checks to ensure health and safety standards, reporting or resolving issues.
* Maintain high service standards for building users by proactively addressing maintenance needs.
* Provide excellent customer service, handling inquiries professionally and courteously, and referring issues as appropriate.
* Manage stock levels supporting course demand.
* Handle goods and services documentation, including post.
* Complete daily room checks to ensure equipment functionality, cleanliness, and proper setup.
* Perform daily building checks.
* Serve as the first point of contact for facilities issues, liaising with management, landlords, and contractors.
* Manage the Facilities Maintenance portal, logging and monitoring reactive tasks.
* Perform basic PPM checks like fire alarm tests, extinguisher checks, and fire door inspections.
* Act as Health & Safety contact, First Aider, and Fire/Chief Fire Marshal.
* Oversee annual H&S and Fire audits, assist with fire drills, site inductions, and regular safety checks.
* Manage personal emergency evacuation procedures (PEEP).
* Respond to classroom IT queries and troubleshoot issues, logging them with the IT service desk.
* Manage and invigilate on-site computer-based assessments, scheduling and facilitating them.
* Work flexibly, including outside normal hours, to address ad hoc issues and provide holiday/sickness cover as needed.
