Behaviour Support Worker – North Tyneside Location: North Tyneside Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am–4.00pm Pay: Competitive daily rate (based on experience, PAYE) Some pupils need more than a lesson plan. We’re looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a fantastic school in North Tyneside, supporting children and young people with additional behavioural and emotional needs. This isn’t just about managing behaviour—it’s about building trust, creating safe spaces, and helping learners feel understood. You’ll work alongside teachers and therapists to support pupils who need extra care and consistency to thrive. What you’ll be doing: Using tailored behaviour strategies to support individual pupils Providing 1:1 and small group support, both in and out of class Offering emotional regulation support for pupils with anxiety or challenging behaviour Supporting pupils who are struggling academically with clear, calm guidance Creating a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes positive engagement What we’re looking for: A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people An interest in SEND and behaviour support—experience welcome, but not essential Patience, empathy, and brilliant communication skills Some knowledge of the national curriculum is helpful, but not essential Right to work in the UK (we can’t offer sponsorship) Enhanced child DBS on the Update Service, or happy to apply for one with us Two professional references Why choose Protocol Education?
