Overview
Staff Nurse – Haematology Transplant Unit at The Christie Private Care, Manchester. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Permanent. Salary: Competitive dependent upon experience + 9% shift enhancement. We’re looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Haematology Transplant Unit Nursing Team, at The Christie Private Care, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. HCA Healthcare UK has developed a dedicated private centre in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. The Christie Private Care treats private patients with a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, surgical, day case and outpatient treatment all on one site. We individualise care to the need of each patient, providing full treatment plans from diagnostic assessments to surgery, chemotherapy and anti-cancer drug therapies, radiotherapy and supportive care.
As a Staff Nurse you’ll be working as part of an experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. Day-to-day you’ll work on a variety of complex cases, but also with the very latest treatment, tools and techniques – allowing you to provide the best possible care for your patients. If you have Haematology or Oncology experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team, we can offer you the chance to grow your career at a company operating at the forefront of cancer care.
The haematology unit enables nurses to deliver high standards of holistic care to their patients with a low nurse-to-patient ratio (1:3). We care for patients with various haematological malignancies, including the delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatments for acute leukaemia, high grade lymphomas and multiple myeloma, and management of treatment side effects. The unit performs stem cell transplants (allograft and autograft). It is JACIE accredited jointly with the Christie Trust haematology transplant programme, and there is ongoing development of CAR T cell and bispecific treatments. A clinical practice facilitator supports clinical training and an education programme, including basic and advanced cell therapy study days and opportunities to attend national and international conferences related to haematology. The unit also includes 2.5 haematology cancer nurse specialists, consultant-led patient care, Resident Doctors on site 24/7, and support from a critical care outreach team for deteriorating patients.
What we care about at HCA UK: delivering the very best care, supporting your health and wellbeing, and providing a career you can be proud of.
