Rhino Modeller
What to Expect
We are recruiting for a Rhino Modeller to join our fantastic Design Department in Bradford, West Yorkshire, moving to Leeds, West Yorkshire in early 2025. As a Rhino Modeller at A Kahn Design, you will be part of the team responsible for interpreting the design team’s vision and translating their 2D designs into 3D sketch models for initial concept design approvals. You will work closely with the Automotive Design Manager, CEO, and the wider design team to deliver resolved, impactful models to drive projects forward at reviews.
What You'll Do
1. Working closely with design to develop any given exterior or alloy wheel model through sketch modelling, to deliver the design vision.
2. Producing high quantity and high impact digital sketch models in Rhino 3D for regular design reviews.
3. Reconciling design intent, quality & manufacturing feasibility and commercial requirements.
4. Communicating progress and critical issues to the Automotive Design Manager.
5. Attending design reviews as required and actioning next steps.
6. Offering input into the creation and update of design standards & processes.
7. Maintaining workload to ensure deadlines are met.
What You'll Bring
1. Excellent fluency in Rhino 3D software essential.
2. The ability to explain concepts and convey technical design-related ideas to others essential.
3. Educated to degree level, with previous automotive experience desired.
4. Familiarity with knowledge of component manufacturing/tooling requirements and an understanding of how this impacts product design desired.
5. Ability to interrogate and understand manufacturing limitations desired.
6. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop desirable.
7. Good freehand sketching skills desirable.
8. Skills in any additional 3D software advantageous.
9. Rendering skills in Keyshot/Blender advantageous.
