Role Overview
Support RTT clinical standard recovery and contribute to the comprehensive consultant‑based, patient‑centred management of general surgical and colorectal conditions, including malignant colorectal disease. The post-holder will provide emergency on‑call support, share responsibility for high‑quality patient care, and work within a consultant‑led service.
Key Responsibilities
* Share responsibility for the delivery of high‑quality care to patients presenting to the Department.
* Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call support, attend the Department as per agreed protocols, and remain contactable and available when on call.
* Carry out ward rounds.
* Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme.
* Assist and participate in the development of postgraduate training for F1s, F2s, SpRs, STs and other staff as appropriate.
* Act as Educational Supervisor for junior and middle‑grade medical staff, responsible for their appraisal and personal development planning.
