Location: This is an on-site opportunity based in the Rochester, New York area, ideal for someone who wants to be embedded with the team and grow in a collaborative office environment. After one year, a hybrid schedule may be available.
Note: To be considered, you must have 3+ years of substantive patent prosecution experience in biomedical engineering, a strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field, and admission to the USPTO.

Job Description
6. Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in biomedical and mechanical technology areas
7. Prepare office action responses and handle examiner interviews
8. Advise clients on patentability, prosecution strategy, and portfolio development
9. Manage patent portfolios, deadlines, and related communications with precision
10. Work directly with clients, inventors, and foreign associates
11. Contribute to a collaborative practice while handling substantive work with a high degree of ownership
Qualifications
12. 3+ years of substantive patent prosecution experience in biomedical engineering
13. Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar
14. USPTO admission required
15. JD from an accredited law school
16. Admission to at least one U.S. state bar
17. Experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications
18. Strong written and verbal communication skills
19. Able to work independently and as part of a team
