We are excited to be recruiting for a full time qualified Counsellor to work in our supportive team here at The Mount. You will join our Talking Therapies team offering one to one, telephone and online therapy. We are open to flexible and hybrid working requests. The successful candidate will be joining a fantastic team of PWPs, Counsellors and CBT therapists who work collaboratively to deliver the best service and outcomes for clients. Health and wellbeing of staff along with investing in our team is important to us. You will receive regular supervision and will also have the opportunity to attend suitable training events to support your professional development.
About Us
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care. Job title: Counsellor (Talking Therapies) – full time

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum
Contract: Permanent • Working pattern: Full-time
Responsibilities
* Provide one to one, telephone and online counselling as part of the Talking Therapies team.
* Work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary; promote equality of opportunity.
* Participate in regular supervision and access appropriate training to support professional development.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications (Essential)
* British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy accredited Diploma (or evidence of BACP 'Certificate of Proficiency' if Diploma was not BACP accredited)
* Registered with BACP or evidence of working towards Accreditation with BACP; expectation to complete within 12 months of taking up the post
* NHS talking therapies compliant modality training suitable for counselling service (e.g. PCE-CfD, IPT, CTfD, BCTfD, MBCT, EMDR, DIT) or currently undertaking training
Knowledge
* Knowledge of NHS structures and policy within a primary care context
* Clinical and theoretical knowledge of at least one model of psychological therapy/counselling
* Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue as part of local service developments
Experience
* Experience of short term time-limited counselling
* Evidence of regular supervised practice
* Experience of promoting wellbeing and social inclusion
Skills
* Ability to sustain intense levels of concentration and participate as required
* Ability to cope with difficult or unpleasant working conditions
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills (oral and written)
Other Requirements
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check: post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; a DBS submission will be required.
