This is a broad role stretching across all areas of tax including corporation tax, VAT, transfer pricing and transaction taxes.Tradition is currently seeking to appoint a Head of Tax on a 12 month contract to be based within our London office.Main responsibilities within the Head of Tax position include:Reviewing all UK tax returns prior to submission to HMRCManaging the relationship between Tradition and HMRC including regular meetings and calls with the CCMReviewing transfer pricing policies and documentationAdvising on the tax implications of business changes e.g. new business lines, establishment of overseas entities, restructurings and new initiativesAdvising on the impact of new taxes or changes in tax legislation or practiceManaging tax risk including maintenance of documentation and controlsPresenting to the Board/Audit Committee/London Executive on the UK tax strategy and key tax issuesProviding tax support to international businessesLiaising with HR and Payroll on employment tax issuesLiaison with external auditors and tax advisersKey skills, experience and competencies required to be successful in this role:Accountancy/tax qualificationAt least 5 years’ experience in taxWorked in practice and in industryHands on in-house tax experience (not necessarily in financial services)Broad tax experience across different taxesAwareness of international tax issues including transfer pricingStatutory accounts/audit experienceStrong Microsoft Office skills especially ExcelTradition do not accept agency CV’s.
