Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
We are seeking a Band 8a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our busy outpatient CAMHS team in Redbridge on a permanent contract. This is an exciting time to join our large therapies team as we embark on service-wide initiatives to meet the mental health needs of diverse children and young people alongside multiagency colleagues. We are looking for a psychotherapist who is passionate about young people\'s mental health and wellbeing to deliver high quality and effective CAMHS interventions.
Overview
The post holder will be a post-graduate qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body and have 2 years plus experience delivering psychotherapy in a CAMHS setting. The successful postholder will be a full member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
Responsibilities
* Be an effective team member, using initiative, supporting peers and the team lead.
* Actively support and liaise with other professionals and agencies as we embed a trauma- and culturally informed model of practice within the service.
* Receive regular clinical supervision from the lead psychologist and attend/participate in MDT meetings.
* Manage a clinical caseload with involvement in service development.
* Contribute to CPD and service development opportunities; participate in inter-agency meetings to tailor treatment packages to individual needs.
Qualifications
* Essential: Post-graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy; eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, AFT, ACP).
Experience
* Extensive experience of working with difficult or challenging children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions.
* Experience with children/adolescents with co-morbid difficulties and special needs (e.g., autistic spectrum disorders, trauma).
* Experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems.
* Experience of using observation in school contexts to contribute to assessments of children.
* Experience of carrying out generic and specialist assessments within a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously to determine appropriate treatment plans.
* Experience of providing specialist individual interventions for a wide range of ages (3 to 19 years) with varying presenting problems.
* Experience initiating, organising and planning inter-agency meetings for treatment packages, and providing professional teaching and training for other professionals.
* Experience providing clinical interventions in different cultural contexts.
Knowledge
* Essential: Knowledge of NHS priorities, NHS Plan, NSF, clinical governance; knowledge of short- and long-term clinical interventions in CAMHS/EWMHS; safeguarding procedures and policies; NHS, Social Care and Education structures; evidence-based practice including NICE guidelines; risk management and safety; electronic records systems (e.g., Rio); research methodology and interpretation of outcomes.

Induction is held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

* High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary (pro rata for part-time staff).
