Our client is a well-established UK food manufacturer operating one of the most advanced production facilities in the industry. They are now looking to recruit talented and experienced Single Skilled and Multi-Skilled Engineers to join their day-shift engineering team at their Wisbech site.
This role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving site performance, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for maintaining site assets across mechanical, electrical, and process systems while ensuring compliance with all statutory, health & safety, and food quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and Permit to Work systems.
Ensure all work meets statutory, quality, and food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, etc.).
Conduct and act on risk assessments to promote a safe working environment.
Support a culture of proactive safety awareness and continuous improvement.Engineering & Operations
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), breakdown repairs, and capital project work.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, ensuring root cause fixes are implemented.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project teams to meet operational goals.
Assist in training and development of team members, supporting a high-performance culture.Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
Participate in CI initiatives including 5S, GMP, and waste reduction activities.
Contribute to site projects aimed at improving asset performance and reducing downtime.Communication & Collaboration
Provide clear and accurate handovers between shifts.
Liaise effectively with internal teams and external contractors to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Work closely with the Engineering Stores team to ensure parts and materials are available.
What We're Looking For
Time-served apprenticeship in Engineering (Multi-Skilled preferred) with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Proven experience in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, including PLC fault-finding.
Experience using CMMS systems (preferably SAP).
Sound understanding of H&S and compliance requirements.
Ability to read technical manuals and engineering drawings.
A proactive, self-motivated individual with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
