Building Futures East is a registered charity based in the East End of Newcastle, dedicated to supporting individuals in some of the most disadvantaged communities North of Tyne since 2006. As a trusted anchor organization, we provide a wide range of interconnected services designed to improve lives, such as benefits advice, debt support, employment guidance, skills training, health checks, and wellbeing programs.
About the Role
We are seeking an individual to join our team on a voluntary basis to help drive our fundraising efforts by focusing on grant writing and research. This role is crucial in securing the resources necessary to maintain the services we provide at Building Futures East.
This is a volunteer role for a couple of hours or more a week!
Experience necessary in bid writing for charities.
Knowledge of local area would be beneficial but not necessary.
This role would require you to occasionally visit the office based in Walker, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The primary focus of this role is to successfully secure grant funding.
Responsibilities
* Develop compelling, clear, and well-articulated grant proposals and funding applications that effectively communicate the mission and impact of Building Futures East activities.
* Gather impact stories and essential data from the leadership and program teams to strengthen applications.
* Funding Research: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, grants, and partnership opportunities that align with our mission.
* Application Management: Prepare and submit all grant applications within specified deadlines, ensuring adherence to all donor guidelines.
* Maintain an accurate tracker of all proposals, deadlines, communications, and funding outcomes.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Experience in bid writing for charities.
* Knowledge of local community or willingness to learn.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
