Position Summary
We seek a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our Psychiatry Liaison team at Dorset County Hospital. The role is part of the adult liaison psychiatry service, providing assessment and treatment for patients experiencing a mental health crisis in an acute hospital setting.
Responsibilities
* Work effectively with the multidisciplinary team, acute hospital colleagues, other mental health services and external supporting agencies.
* Participate in team meetings, case presentations, reflective practice sessions and receive regular group and individual supervision.
* Support the team during case work and provide direct care to patients in accordance with the service's standards and protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Passion, empathy, strong communication skills and excellent teamwork.
* Prior experience in a mental health or healthcare setting is advantageous but not mandatory; comprehensive induction training will be provided.
* Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
* Applicants who have a current DBS update service certificate are permitted to present a valid DBS certificate instead of undergoing a new check.
* Candidates requiring current Healthcare worker sponsorship to work in the UK are not eligible to apply.
