Staffordshire | Full Time, Permanent

An established and rapidly growing logistics business in Staffordshire is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its senior leadership team. With a turnover in excess of £23.5 million and significant expansion plans, this is a key strategic role. The successful candidate will drive commercial performance across core services including distribution, warehousing, and contract logistics.
Reporting directly to the board, you will be responsible for shaping and executing a sales strategy, building long-term partnerships, and ensuring revenue growth in a competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a commercial strategy aligned with company growth goals.
* Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing and onboarding.
* Secure new business through tenders, campaigns, and proactive prospecting.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high service levels and retention.
* Lead and mentor a commercial team.
* Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
* Utilize CRM systems and data insights for planning and pipeline management.
* Support the adoption of new technologies to streamline sales processes.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks through planning and contract evaluation.
Experience & Skills Required
* Experience in senior sales, commercial, or business development roles within logistics or supply chain sectors.
* Proven success in developing key accounts and securing new business via tenders.
* Strong commercial skills in pricing, forecasting, and strategic planning.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Proficiency with CRM tools and marketing data analysis.
* Leadership and collaboration skills across functions.
* Degree in Business, Sales, or related field (preferred).
* Full UK Driving Licence.
