Herefordshire Council is seeking an Adult Social Care Locality Manager to drive excellence in service delivery and champion person‑centred care across our communities. We’re looking for someone who:
* Is a registered Social Worker with Social Work England and holds a qualifying degree.
* Has significant post‑qualification experience with a deep understanding of current legislation and its real‑world impact.
* Has a track record of delivering high‑quality services and driving improvement.
* Has strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex networks and partnerships.
* Collaborates effectively with external agencies to build strong partnerships.
* Holds a full, clean driving licence.
* Demonstrates commitment to Herefordshire Council, upholding our core values and working to deliver on wider organisational objectives.
What will you be doing?
Lead a team of senior practitioners, social workers, and support staff to deliver high‑quality adult social care services, ensuring assessments, planning and provision of care are evidence‑based, person‑centred and aligned with statutory requirements.
* Lead and inspire teams to deliver outstanding adult social care services, influencing system‑wide cultural change and working together to achieve a joined‑up approach to operational services.
* Manage budgets, resources and performance to achieve efficiency and quality, delivering value for money services while managing risk appropriately and improving outcomes.
* Drive service improvements and implement innovative ways of working, reflecting Council Plan priorities.
* Act as a technical reference point for complex social care issues.
* Promote partnership working to safeguard adults and enhance wellbeing, supporting resilient communities and preventative services.
* Ensure compliance with legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding frameworks.
* Work in a supportive culture that offers regular supervision and celebrates professional growth.
You Will
* Transform lives with comprehensive Care Act assessments and bespoke support plans.
* Navigate complex situations with expertise in Section 42 enquiries, Mental Capacity assessments and more.
* Collaborate fearlessly with a variety of partner agencies to ensure holistic care.
* Never stop growing with regular supervision and funded opportunities to specialise.
* Create a shared vision and culture across all aspects of practice, ensuring a person‑centred, strength‑based and risk‑appropriate approach permeates decision making at all levels.
