We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team on a 12 month FTC (maternity cover). This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days per week required on-site at our Nottingham office. Senior Finance Manager Here's what you'll be doing As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will provide high-quality financial and commercial business partnering support to the B2C SME Commercial team, reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Finance. This role plays a pivotal part in influencing and improving commercial performance through insightful analysis, strategic input, and effective partnership with stakeholders across Sales and Retention, Pricing, and Strategy. Key Responsibilities • Provide insightful analysis of customer number performance, including sales, losses, renewals, and switching, to deliver actionable commercial insight for the SME leadership team and inform Executive reporting. • Influence Sales and Retention strategy by delivering robust financial insight and partnering closely with Strategy and Change to support the Head of SME Commercial in defining commercial priorities. • Lead the financial aspects of mid-term planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly reporting for the SME customer base, ensuring accuracy, rigour, and ownership of outcomes. • Shape and communicate performance narratives that effectively inform commercial decisions, driving improved financial results and delivery of the business plan. • Leverage analysis and models from wider finance teams, including the Value Team, to provide actionable insights and identify opportunities for performance improvement. • Develop and maintain financial models to support agile decision-making, challenge assumptions, and drive optimal commercial outcomes. • Define, track, and interpret key financial and operational KPIs to guide business performance. • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, offering financial expertise to improve working capital and commercial outcomes. • Foster strong and effective relationships across Finance, Commercial, and Transformation teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration. • Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for automation and process enhancement through partnership with the Transformation team. What we need from you • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a proven track record of adding value within a commercially focused finance role. • Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight. • Demonstrated experience influencing commercial decision-making, particularly in pricing, propositions, and customer performance. • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence effectively across functions and at senior levels. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to challenge and engage business partners constructively. • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure. • A proactive, innovative mindset with the ability to challenge convention and drive imaginative solutions to business challenges. • Energy, drive, and determination to deliver results and meet tight deadlines.
