Citi continues to enhance its business control andernance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM), a function in the 1st Line of Defense, to house and consistently manage credit risk activities performed across its Institutional Client Group organization. ICM's objective is to provide integrated "end-to-end" credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk across the enterprise. Within ICM, the Credit Underwriting function (ICM-UW) provides analysis, greenlight, underwriting, first-line-of-defense credit approval and subsequent credit monitoring across all wholesale credit businesses including Banking, Global Structured Products, Financings, and Securitizations (GSP-F&S), Treasury & Trade Services (TTS), Markets, and Securities Services (MSS).
The Global Head of Industrials UW manages a team of Corporate Underwriters, covering Transport and Industrials, Capital Goods, Metal and Mining and diversified Industrials clients in North America and in Western Europe, being responsible for all underwriting activities, in partnership with Banking and Risk. This role reports directly to the Global Head of ICM CDM Credit Underwriting. The teams reporting to the Global Head of Industrials are based in London and New York City.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Executes, aligned with global and regional strategies, all responsibilities regarding underwriting, including, but not limited to:
1. Adoption of leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process, from early origination discussions to development of credit approval memos, and senior approval forums
2. Manage resources and serve as a key point of contact for the team for escalations/ guidance as required
3. Detailed review of financial analysis, due diligence, projection modeling, stress testing, risk rating and other in-depth analysis performed by junior resources
4. Review and approval of Credit Approval Memos (CAM) packages
5. Partnering with Front Office on structuring and production of term sheet for new transactions
6. Ensure alignment with key Banking senior partners to support them in delivering their strategy and provide senior leadership onplex and large transactions
7. Facilitate relationships with key partners in Banking and Risk and with key Regulators, Internal Audit, and control functions
8. Support the ICM CDM Underwriting Global Head on strategic initiatives/projects as required
SPECIFIC RISK EXPERIENCE:
9. Senior credit approval authority covering large andplex underwritings, capitalmitments, derivatives with multi-industry experience
10. Experience in and exposure to global credit risk management standards
11. Ability to understand capital markets products andplex financing and product structures
12. Ability to provide strategic insights and strong sensitivity to macro and regulatory issues, and impact of such issues on the various Risk families, including operational and franchise risks
13. Able to discuss and address issues associated with the allocation of risk assets and risk capital in partnership with banking and product organizations

14. Proven ability to understand nuances of local markets, local regulation, and the capabilities and practices ofpetitors

17. Proven experience of managing a team
18. Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of risk/return trade-offs associated with transactions and client relationships
19. Proven track record of partnering with global peers in leveraging and implementation of best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
20. 15+ years relevant work experience in banking/financial institutions, including 10+ years' managerial experience
21. Senior Credit Officer designation is strongly preferred
22. Proven ability to effectively engage with regulators and internal control functions including Internal Audit and Fundamental Credit Risk as well as with external audit
23. Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity
24. Ability to see the 'big picture' in aplex environment
25. Can make decisions under pressure and short timeline
26. Excellent verbal & writtenmunication, active listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
27. Excellent presentation skills - adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and various constituencies
28. Demonstrated influencing and negotiating ability, resolve conflicts amongst various constituencies
29. Must work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities, andplete assigned tasks with minimal guidance and management follow up
