We are working with a leading civil engineering contractor that has recently secured several five-year clean and wastewater framework contracts across South and West Wales. Due to these major contract wins, the business is expanding its commercial team and is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of these long-term infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work and clear opportunities for career progression within a growing commercial team. The successful candidate will support the commercial management of either a major scheme valued at approximately £10 million or several smaller projects running concurrently across the framework programme. This role would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with experience in civil engineering or construction, who is looking to further develop their skills and progress their career within a supportive and experienced commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account
* Supporting the preparation of cost reports, valuations, and forecasts
* Assisting with subcontractor procurement and account management
* Preparing and managing variations and payment applications
* Working closely with project and site teams to support successful project delivery
Key Requirements
* Experience within the civil engineering or construction sector
* Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous
* Strong commercial awareness and willingness to learn
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Water sector experience desirable but not essential
