Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and team leadership. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient materials handling, process improvement, and the overall smooth operation of our warehouse environment. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team, optimising workflows, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes.
* Manage a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and support to enhance performance and productivity.
* Implement process improvements to optimise workflow and reduce operational costs.
* Oversee materials handling procedures to ensure safe and effective storage and retrieval of products.
* Maintain accurate inventory levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to track stock movements.
* Conduct regular training sessions for staff on equipment operation, including forklift usage and safety protocols.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
* Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline logistics operations.
* Perform mechanical inspections on equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
* Assist with heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are followed.
Experience
* Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role is essential.
* Strong knowledge of materials handling processes and logistics operations.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software is advantageous.
* Experience in team management with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively.
* Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment is preferred.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily responsibilities.
