Role Overview
We are recruiting an Operational Support Officer (AO) to join a busy court environment in Salisbury. This is a dual-role position, offering a 50/50 split between court ushering duties and administrative support.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently balance both front-facing and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Court Usher Duties (Front-of-House)
* Supporting the smooth running of court sessions
* Guiding and assisting court users, visitors, and legal professionals
* Calling cases and ensuring participants are present when required
* Maintaining order and professionalism within courtrooms
* Delivering excellent customer service in a sensitive and sometimes pressurised environment
Administrative Duties
* Data input and updating internal systems
* Responding to queries from court users and stakeholders
* General administrative support to the wider team
* Using Microsoft Office and other IT systems effectively
* Ensuring accurate and timely processing of documentation
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
* Well organised with strong attention to detail
* Able to remain calm under pressure
* Demonstrates patience and professionalism
Experience
* Customer service experience is essential
* Previous administrative experience is required
* Must have prior work experience (no complete beginners)
