MET Technician (Stripper / Fitter)
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: Basic Up to £55,000 + bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday (overtime available)
Overview
ISQ Recruitment are currently supporting a busy and expanding accident repair centre in the search for an experienced MET Technician. This is a great opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering repairs to a high standard.
You'll be responsible for the strip, mechanical and refit stages of vehicle repair, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with manufacturer-approved methods.
What You'll Be Doing
Stripping vehicles ready for repair, removing components safely and methodically
Refitting and reassembling vehicles post-repair, ensuring excellent panel alignment and quality standards
Completing mechanical work in line with the agreed repair specification
Carrying out 4-wheel alignment as directed by the work order
Observing, identifying and reporting any structural or paintwork issues during the repair process
Ensuring all safety checks are completed prior to vehicle handover
Checking for warning lights and completing beam setting where required, ensuring this is logged correctly
Ensuring fluids and gases are removed, stored and handled safely in line with job instructions
Disposing of components and fluids correctly in line with workshop processes
Completing quality control checks and supporting final stage sign-off / ATA sign-off where applicable
Ensuring the correct repair method is present and followed (manufacturer systems / e-scribe or other approved sources)
Reporting faults and defects found during repair work and recording notes clearly on job cards Required Skills & Experience
Previous experience as an MET Technician within a bodyshop / accident repair centre
Strong understanding of manufacturer repair standards and correct repair methods
Confident completing strip, refit and mechanical duties to a high standard
High attention to detail with a quality-first approach
Able to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
A safe, professional working mindset with good workshop discipline
Reliable, organised and able to follow job packs and work instructions accurately Benefits
