Overview
The Senior Delivery Manager is a key role in the delivery of our digital strategy, responsible for leading complex digital projects and programmes, managing a team of Delivery Managers, and ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex DDAT projects and programmes, ensuring high quality outputs on time and within budget.
* Build and maintain motivated, multidisciplinary delivery teams and mentor team members on Agile and Lean practices.
* Lead a team of Delivery Managers, supporting their professional development and providing strategic guidance.
* Diagnose complex digital challenges, analyse data, and recommend effective solutions.
* Develop and monitor project plans, business cases, and financial models to secure funding and manage budgets.
* Ensure compliance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions and align financial planning with the capital programme.
* Develop specifications, communication plans, and post‑implementation reviews to capture lessons learned.
* Facilitate change management best practices and coordinate with stakeholders including clinicians and executive directors.
* Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership and the Senior Responsible Officer.
Person Specification
* Master’s degree level or equivalent professional experience.
* Commitment to ongoing training and development.
* Advanced project management qualification (e.g., Professional Scrum Master II, Professional Agile Leadership, MSP or ITIL).
* Proven experience delivering large digital projects and programmes in the NHS or public sector.
* Strong Agile (Scrum/Kanban) expertise and experience using tools such as Jira or Trello.
* Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial compliance within a matrix structure.
* Excellent communication skills – able to present complex information to stakeholders of all levels.
* Vendor management experience and ability to influence leadership and secure commitment to change.
* Knowledge of NHS Service Standards, GDS, or healthcare IT is desirable.

Contract: Permanent – Full‑time
Pay: £64,455 to £74,896 per annum
