We are a friendly and busy NHS GPPractice in Beckenham. We are looking for a Part timeReceptionist to work with us at the practice.
We require a Medical Receptionist Care Navigator withinitiative, drive, strong interpersonal, admin and IT skills.
Previous reception/admin and/or customerservices skills are desirable. Join our happy and dedicated team providingquality care to a diverse population.
You will need to be a good communicator, fluent in English, written and spoken, with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure.
You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are critical. A caring, empathetic character is essential.
Experience of using Emis Web and working in a GP practice is preferred.
Main duties of the job
JobResponsibilities:
Answering telephonecalls and dealing with face to face enquiries.
Politely greetingpatients and visitors to the surgery.
Schedulingappointments for patients.
Dealing with allrequests in an efficient and courteous manner.
Screening enquiriesfor the doctors and medical staff.
Registering newpatients at the surgery.
Explaining thepractice procedures to new patients.
Accuratelycollecting information and personal details about patients.
Updating clinicalsystem with appointments and personal details.
Receiving urine andblood samples and sending them off to hospital laboratories.
Arrangingprescriptions for patients.
Maintaining a cleanreception and waiting area to show a professional image.
Opening post andforwarding it onto the relevant parties.
Opening and lockingup the surgery.
Covering colleaguesduring times of annual leave.
Ensure buildingsecurity have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm.
Keeping thereception area and waiting area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy andfree from obstructions and clutter
To have a thoroughknowledge of all our Practice Policies and Procedures
To work inaccordance with our Practice protocols
To maintain acomputerised medical database
To receivedeliveries into the practice and process the relevant accompanying paperwork

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, motivated andcaring Receptionist who enjoys helping patients in a general practice setting.We offer NHS Pension and standard annual leave.
This role is for 19hrs per week for 3 shifts on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. There areopportunities for growth and progression.
Candidate must be available to cover annual leaves and absences.
We are looking for a good team player. Good time keeping will be helpful in this role as staff do shifts and appreciate being relieved on time. This role will suit a candidate that is looking for a few hours job. Candidates living locally will enjoy the short distance journey this will present.

Job responsibilities
Primary Key responsibilities:
The following are the core responsibilitiesof the Care Navigator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry outother tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffinglevels and training:
Process and effectively signpostpatients to the appropriate healthcare professional, depending on thepresenting condition
Answer incoming phone calls,transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Maintain and Monitor all onlinerequests/Econsults are action in a timely manner
Initiating contact with and respondingto, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
Clinically code data on Emis Web Systemaccurately
Good understanding of total triage - (Training will be offered).
Input data into patients healthcarerecords as necessary
Direct requests for information, i.e.,SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
Manage all queries as necessary in anefficient manner
Maintain a clean, tidy, effectiveworking area at all times
Monitor and maintain the reception areaand notice boards
Support Care Navigators/Administrators,providing cover during staff absences
Scan patient related documentation andattach scanned documents to patients healthcare records and code accurately.
Complete opening and closing proceduresin accordance with the duty rota
Produce, maintain and participate in theCare Navigators rota
Undertake all mandatory training andinduction programmes, and ensuring all mandatory training is maintained and upto date
Support the with the PatientParticipation Group related matters
Support the health promotion lead anddisplay promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waitingroom
Attend a formal appraisal with theirmanager at least every 12 months. Once a performance/training objective hasbeen set, progress will be reviewed on a regular basis so that new objectivescan be agreed
Contribute to public health campaigns(e.g., flu clinics) through advice or direct care
Train and support new reception staff inreception duties and tasks.
Oversea reception staff annual leaveensuring that there is no clash and cut off dates are maintained.
Restock all the clinical rooms and thenecessary places.
Any other duties as may be required by thePartners and the Practice manager.
