We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced GP Receptionist to join our friendly and busy GP Practice. This will be primarily within our telephone hub at Waterside Medical Centre; although there will be some need to work across all our Gosport sites. You will need to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, be organised and have the ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team, within a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is essential along with an understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach. Previous experience of working within the NHS is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the reception team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Care Navigator Lead, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
* Unlock and open surgery ready for business on time.
* Switch on and log in to all reception and clinician's computers.
* Retrieve signed prescriptions from locked cupboard and place in correct order in script box.
* Answer the telephone to make, cancel or change patient appointments.
* Deal enquiries raised by patients plus check in for appointments.
* Deal with any patient issues in confidence, escalating to Supervisor for any complaints.
* Cancel clinics under direction and re-book patients.
* Meet and greet any visitors coming into the practice.
* Be the first point of contact for any queries via telephone or face to face directing to most relevant person.
* Scanning and coding of letters and relevant correspondence into patient's notes.
* Checking and actioning workflow tasks within the Clinical System.
* Re-print forms issued on ICE by clinicians.
* Prepare samples for collections.
* Check waiting room at intervals during the day for any health and safety issues that may affect users.
* Close surgery at the end of day and switch to night service. Follow protocol for shutting surgery at night and preparing for next days business.
* Ensure security of data at all times.

Qualifications
* *Good general education -- evidence of literacy and numeracy, e.g. GCSE's in Maths/English.
* *Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Working knowledge of Emis Web
Experience

* * Ability to use own initiative.
* * Good and accurate IT skills
