Tuition Role: Play‑Based Tutor (Aged 5) - (RK)
Location: GU11
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 15 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Duration: 10 weeks, with potential extension
Delivery: Face‑to‑face in the family home
About the Role
We are seeking a warm, creative and experienced tutor to deliver play‑based learning for a 5‑year‑old boy, Reuben, who is currently awaiting a Year R school placement. The tutor will provide engaging, child‑led sessions that support early learning skills, communication, and confidence while working closely with the family to establish a positive, consistent routine.
Learner Profile
Reuben's primary need is Autism, and he presents with:
Significant social communication and interaction difficulties
Expressive and receptive language delays
Sensory processing differences
Sleep‑related challenges (under assessment)
Ongoing assessments for hypermobilityHe will benefit from a tutor who is patient, nurturing, and skilled in adapting learning through play, multi‑sensory approaches, and low‑demand communication strategies.
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting young children with ASD
At least 6 months experience working in UK Schools
Ability to deliver engaging, play‑based learning
Strong understanding of early years development
Confidence in using visual supports and structured routines
A calm, flexible and child‑centred approach
Experience working in homes and collaborating with families

About the tutoring

Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and/or Science
Experience tutoring or teaching (school, intervention, tuition centre, or mentoring)
Ability to build positive relationships with students
Reliable, organised, and confident working independently
A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
