Applications are invited for a part-time History and Theory Teaching Associate to take up an appointment no later than 1 January 2026. This fixed-term post is available until 31 August 2026, and is to provide temporary cover.
The post-holder will have knowledge and teaching experience of the socio political dimensions of history and theory, with research publications in these areas. The roles will contribute to research-led teaching across the Department that draws on Cambridge's research rich environment and supports and maintains the University's national and international reputation for excellence. The post-holder would also be expected to provide at least 40 hours of supervisions for their own courses and for first year undergraduates and for dissertations for which additional remuneration would be made by the Colleges).
In all cases the appointee will be expected to contribute to administrative duties, commensurate with the role. Attendance at staff meetings, awaydays and other relevant meetings are part of the role.
Candidates must be skilled in successfully developing and delivering teaching in architecture and design at university level, have experience of developing teaching material for lectures and seminars, by introducing innovative material or developing and shaping course activities.
Candidates must have: a very good BA and MArch degree in Architecture and have completed, or be about to complete a PhD in Architectural History or Theory, or have equivalent demonstrable experience and/or hold a teaching qualification as appropriate.
