Intensive Crisis Worker
Post 1: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Post 2: Part Time – 22.5 hours per week
Shifts: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM / 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM (work pattern to be discussed during the interview). This role operates on a two‑week rota pattern, which includes weekend working.
Starting Salary: £25,390 per annum, rising to £26,206 after 6‑month probation. The salary will be pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Location: Short Stay Recovery House, Oak Tree House – Burgh Castle – NR31
The Service
The Short Stay Recovery House is a 24‑hour service for people who have experienced, or are experiencing, a mental health crisis but do not require a hospital admission.
The Role
You will provide crisis intervention and support to people who are experiencing a psychiatric and/or psychosocial crisis but do not require a hospital admission.
Responsibilities
* Support individuals in crisis (presenting in a range of ways, including low mood, depression, anxiety, mania, self‑harm, and suicidal thoughts) to develop their own safety plan and coping strategies to navigate the crisis situation.
* Identify and respond to individuals who become a risk to themselves or others within this period by working closely with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service (CRHT).
* Liaise with the Service Manager when taking new referrals and be part of a full risk handover when accepting new people to the house.
* Complete admissions and discharge paperwork including recovery plans.
* Create and facilitate one‑to‑one and group sessions for guests to aid in their recovery, focusing on client‑specific recovery goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Employment is subject to a satisfactory DBS check as well as other safeguarding checks.
