What you’ll be doing

1. To carry out stagging and configuration along with workshop warranty and break fix repairs on all products supported by the company including laptops, desktops, switches, routers and printers
2. Have a good understanding of networking technologies, installation of operating systems across a network Via SCCM, PXE, and via USB.
3. Have a good working knowledge of SSH, Telnet and Putty to aid configuration of various equipment.
4. Ability to perform Bios / Firmware updates for various equipment and manufacturers.
5. Liaising directly with other departments within the company, as requested, to ensure effective levels of communication are maintained.
6. Develop close working relationship with peer groups, Service Desk, Field Engineering teams and other operational departments.
7. Pro-active in maintaining good levels of morale through effective communication.
8. A pro-active approach to resolving local issues within the team, escalating into the Maintenance Ops Stores and Workshop Team Leader and Maintenance Ops Manager where appropriate.
9. Responsible for adhering to all BT H&S guidelines and escalating into the Maintenance Operations Manager where appropriate.
10. Assist the Maintenance Ops Stores and Workshop Team Leader and Maintenance Ops Manager with Maintenance Ops CI.
11. Requirement to attend any training courses appropriate to the role, on or off their normal place of work.
12. Responding to requests and enquiries from other departments in a timely manner.
13. Monitoring the shipment to and from repair centres of Customer Property and BT assets.
14. Raise and progress RMA repairs with Microsoft.

What skills you’ll need

15. Have a good working knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10 to aid in configuration and troubleshooting.
16. Have the required skills and hold the relevant accreditations to repair and build kit on all BT portfolio and customer owned stock including HPI/HPE, Lenovo, Dell, Cisco and Draytek.
17. Ability to support their Team Leader and Line Manager through transformational changes.
18. Ability to process complex ideas and think logically; perceives and understands others.
19. Possesses the ability to take well-evaluated risks and be bold in making decisions and taking action.
20. Acts with integrity and takes responsibility for own actions and responses.
21. Customer facing; strong interpersonal skills, assertive, financial awareness.
22. Competent on BT systems reporting tools and using data to drive efficiencies.
23. Personal attributes: have initiative, a pro-active approach to dealing with customer issues, must take ownership of situations and be accountable.
24. Strong problem-solving skills with a logical mind.
25. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, Excellent attention to detail.
26. Highly motivated, demonstrated ability to work independently and under supervision.
27. Positive, ambitious, proactive and enthusiastic to change.
28. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
