Overview of the job
This is a specialist administrative job in an establishment. All staff have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The post holder must undertake the appropriate level of training and is responsible for ensuring that they understand and work within the safeguarding policies of the organisation.
Summary
The job holder will provide support to the Safer Custody and Security Intelligence Departments through:
* Assisting Safer Custody leads in delivering effective intelligence and information systems
* Working with Security teams to address issues linked to Safer Custody
This role involves maintaining administration systems within specified timescales. It is a non-operational role with no line management responsibilities and is rotational.
Responsibilities, Activities, and Duties
The post involves analyzing and evaluating information from various sources to support decision-making on Safer Custody issues, producing reports, updating systems, providing training, liaising with external agencies, and supporting Safer Custody objectives across departments. Additional administrative tasks include maintaining records, coordinating meetings, and managing communication and databases.
The duties are not exhaustive and may be adjusted as needed. The role requires confidence in communication in English or Welsh (if in Wales).

Technical Requirements
Completion of specific training in administrative specialism is required. Transfer to a Young Persons establishment requires assessment for suitability.
