WHAT TO EXPECT
As a CAD Package Lead Engineer within our Powertrain Engineering Team you will have the opportunity to support the design and development of Air Intake Systems, MHEV Brackets / Enclosures and Gas Path mounted Sensors on to new and existing platforms by drawing on the support of the Technical Specialists, Component lead Engineers and Peers within the team.
This is also an opportunity to think commercially factoring in quality, cost and time elements in the design and development of components.
The role allows for some hybrid working (presence needed 2 to 3 days per week on site at our Gaydon, Warwickshire facility or other facilities at times). This role also comes with opportunities for career development in a dynamic/forward thinking company and cross commodity design responsibilities.
Accountabilties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Geometric Design and Integration of the AIS/MHEV and Sensors components within the vehicle
2. Work with the supplier, CAE teams, Cost engineering and STA to deliver feasible, cost effective solutions
3. Resolve integration issues working with other engineering functions and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet the required targets
4. Ensure all programme design solutions meet: Programme targets for cost and weight Legal regulations and Requirements Management & Design Verification documentation tribute teams to develop designs that meet the required targets
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
This opportunity will be well suited to you if you have practical experience of 3Dx and Catia authoriing along with GT&D / Drawing. It is well suited to you if you capable of self-managing workloads and can establish priorities from key stakeholders along with having effective communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Whilst not essential, we are interested to know if you have a good understanging of plastic part design for mould tools, and understanding of sheet metal design; any previous engineering experience with Air Intake Systems and/or knowledge of product delivery processes from concept to delivery.
