New Directions Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our pool of support staff working across a range of SEN and Resource Provisions in Leeds/Wakefield/Bradford area.
Are you passionate about helping learners with additional needs develop essential life skills? Join our team as a Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
What you’ll do:
1. Support learners 1:1 and in small groups.
2. Promote independence, communication, and emotional regulation.
3. Use strategies like Makaton, PECS, and structured routines.
4. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families.
What we’re looking for:
5. Experience with SEN (SLCN/ASC).
6. Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
7. Team player; willing to learn new approaches.
8. Team-Teach training (desirable).
