We are experiencing continued growth throughout the business and are currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Wānaka Team.
This is a hands-on role, where you will lead and set a positive example. Working collaboratively and taking directions from Site Managers/Build Team Managers and/or Foreman to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within set timeframes.
Duties:
* Liaise effectively and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders while maintaining a high service quality
* Lead and assist the team both on and off the tools to meet project demands and timelines
* Mitigate risks with a solution-based approach
* Provide leadership support as directed by Build Team/Site Manager
* Be the point of contact between contractors, apprentices, labourers, and the Foreman and/or Site Manager
* Provide clear direction and task allocation on tasks that need to be completed
Skills and Experience:
* Must have NZ/AUS recognised Carpentry qualification
* Commercial build experience with structural experience is a must
* Experience in a leadership role within the construction industry is a must
* A passion for leading and mentoring teams with the ability to recognise the successes of others in your team
* High level of communication skills with the ability to have “tough” conversations
* Leadership of health and safety
* High-end residential experience is an advantage
* Licence Building Practitioner preferred but not essential
