The successful candidate will work within the Ready to Learn Room, providing short-term support to students who require time out or reflection due to not meeting classroom conduct expectations. This role involves fostering a calm, purposeful environment where students can re-establish positive behaviours, working closely with the Ready to Learn Room Manager and the wider pastoral team. There is potential for this role to take on broader involvement in pastoral provision within the school in the next academic year. We are looking for someone with experience in behaviour and pastoral support in education or a similar setting, who is confident in managing challenging situations using de-escalation techniques, and can demonstrate strong skills in motivating students. You should be an outstanding role model, empathetic yet firm, with excellent communication skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. A passion for supporting young people to reach their full potential, commitment to inclusion and diversity, resilience and the ability to work calmly as part of a team are essential. Attachments Casual Administrator We are seeking to appoint a Casual Administrator to provide flexible, high-quality administration and support across the Pastoral Department, Reception, and Finance during periods of high workload or staff absence. This is a varied role, offering the opportunity to work with different departments as required to meet the needs of the school. We are looking for a flexible and reliable administrator with experience in a fast-paced environment. You will have strong Microsoft Office skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a professional, welcoming manner. The role requires accuracy, resilience, confidentiality, and the ability to work calmly under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and work effectively as part of a team. A commitment to safeguarding and equal opportunities is essential. Hours: This is a zero-hours contract. There are no guaranteed minimum working hours, and work will be offered on an ad hoc basis according to operational needs.
