Kitchen Porter
PAY: Up to £14.75 per hour (INC TRONC)
As a Commis Chef/Kitchen Porter, this is your first experience of a professional kitchen, and your first step in your professional cooking career. You will be expected to develop your skills and knowledge through both practical working and your ongoing formal culinary training. Reporting in to a Head Chef, you will be expected to learn and develop your skills, both in terms of your team communication and cooking expertise.
· Usually assigned to a section, you will assist in the food preparation process
· Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality ingredients for your section
· Responsible for cooking and preparing elements of the menu
· Comply with all health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards
· Cleaning of kitchen/restaurant equipment
· Help with deliveries and restocking
· Assist with stock rotation and cleaning of stations·
· Cleaning of crockery from each table once the customers have finished
· Follow health and food safety hygiene procedures at all times
· Great attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and memory skills
· Strong interpersonal and team work skills, including listening
· Ability to remain composed, particularly during stressful or uncomfortable circumstances
· Ability to maintain a positive attitude
· Know when to raise a complaint to a more senior member of the team
· Understand your business's needs
· Willingness to undertake additional duties as and when required
· Experience in a similar role an advantage
· A willingness to learn with an passion for providing an excellent customer experience
