A nationwide engineering and maintenance provider operating across multiple industrial sectors. The business delivers full lifecycle support for automation and asset‑based operations and has a well‑established technical service function. You’ll be joining a growing automation support team that provides 24/7 remote and onsite assistance to a varied, multi‑industry client base.
Your new role
You will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and fault‑finding on a wide range of automation systems, both remotely and on customer sites. This includes working across multiple PLC, HMI and SCADA platforms, delivering minor code changes, conducting system health checks,pleting backups, and producing system surveys and obsolescence reports.
You’ll also support small automation projects, assist with technical input for proposals, and identify opportunities for performance improvements within client production environments. The role offers hybrid working and flexibility on location across the UK.
What you'll need to succeed
1. An engineering qualification (Degree, HND/HNC or apprenticeship) in Electrical, Electronic or Control Systems Engineering
2. Background inmissioning or maintenance with strong PLC fault‑finding capability across major manufacturers
3. Ability to work across unfamiliar automation systems and connect to networks for diagnostics
4. Understanding of electrical systems
5. Strongmunication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider service team
6. Willingness to learn new technologies and obtain relevant security clearances
