Maintenance Assistant is to support the Maintenance Engineer for maintenance related activities with in the facility. They will have a collectively responsibility for the efficient maintenance and repair of machinery, plant equipment and tools to ensure continuous high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities and Duties

The responsibility to achieve the duty cannot be delegated. The tasks required to discharge them can be delegated; assistance and support can be obtained; but the responsibility remains with you
Carrying out any maintenance works required across the facility both reactive and planned preventative maintenance
To facilitate the Maitneance team logging of all breakdowns on the appropriate recording system
Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly with minimal disruption to production
Monitoring of stock and ensuring that parts are readily available as and when required
Experience of Comexi flexographic printers, Simplex Print Machine, Bimec slitter rewinders
Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
Ensure that all work is conducted in line with the Company's BRC standards of hygiene and workplace tidiness, aware of 5S standards
Advance troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components
Control maintenance of tools and storage of equipment
Provide technical support and training on new equipment to operators as required
Scheduling of preventative maintenance and planned shutdown works
Available for out of hours emergencies which may arise or plant breakdowns
Monitor and control of maintenance costs and expenditure
Person Specification
Proven work experience as a maintenance engineer preverbal within a print packaging environment
Aware of BRC Code of Practice would be advantageous
Able to work on own initiative
Good attention to detail and an ability to problem solve and work on own initiative
Contribute to the continuous improvement activity
Manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business
