Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is a national centre of excellence in the provision of specialist children's health care, currently delivering the widest range of specialist care of any children's hospital in the UK. It has the largest Paediatric Haematology and Oncology centre in Europe.
An opportunity has arisen in the Department of Haematology’s Specialist Integrated Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (Molecular section) for a suitably qualified Specialist Healthcare Scientist. This is an excellent post for an enthusiastic and scientifically innovative individual.
You must hold a HCPC registration and ideally have experience in either a Haematology or Molecular laboratory. You must have a broad range of knowledge and experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Full training will be provided in the specialist area of Paediatric Molecular Haematology. Experience in molecular methods such as PCR and sequencing is desirable.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of the team running clinical diagnostic assays for patients with haematological malignancies and patients who underwent haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, gene therapy or CAR-T cell therapy. All work is performed under the supervision of the Laboratory Managers and Senior Healthcare Scientists.
