We are hiring a Satellite Operations Manager in Helsinki (on-site) on behalf of our client, a pioneering space company that is building the world’s most advanced hyperspectral satellite constellation and developing AI-powered analytics to turn spaceborne data into actionable insights.

Your Role
As Satellite Mission Manager, you’ll be at the helm of coordinating and enhancing our satellite operations, ensuring our data tells compelling stories that empower our clients and partners around the globe. Key Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Monitor, coordinate, and develop fluent satellite operations processes and software across satellite operations, data analytics, and business development teams to ensure optimized satellite operations performance in alignment with organizational goals.
* Data Coordination: Oversee daily data collection activities, addressing commercial, calibration/validation, and demonstration requirements transparently. Ensure timelines are met and efficiencies maximized.
* Timeline Management: Manage data collection and delivery schedules and lead collection schedule prioritization, considering internal priorities, constellation capacity and human resources.
* Operations troubleshooting: Monitor constellation capacity and swiftly investigate any anomalies in satellite operations that will impact data delivery. Implement timely solutions with satellite software and analytics teams to reduce loss of capacity.
* Business Development Support: Collaborate with sales and business development teams to clarify data/analytics collection parameters and facilitate data acquisition and data delivery. Follow current world events, ensuring relevant data collection addresses market and customer demands.
* Team Supervision: Lead and supervise the satellite operations team, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree or PhD in aerospace engineering, data analytics, or a related field.
* 5+ years of proven experience in satellite operations, logistics or a related industry.
* Strong leadership skills with experience supervising technical teams.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* AI knowledge: Understand and be able to learn AI-powered satellite operations development and management to implement an automated data acquisition strategy.
