This exciting opportunity will see you:
1. Conceptualising and designing innovative new products, influencing the future of multiple industries.
2. Leading early-stage research and gathering insights to fuel the product development process.
3. Creating and refining detailed 3D CAD models, bringing your designs to virtual life using Autodesk Inventor (or similar software).
4. Designing intricate product assemblies, focusing on functionality, manufacturability, and long-term durability.
5. Working closely with internal and external toolmakers, ensuring seamless production of your designs.
6. Overseeing product development projects from initial concept to final tooling and release, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
7. Creating and testing prototypes, from small-scale models to full-size functional units.
8. Ensuring product compliance with industry standards and regulations through rigorous testing and validation.
9. Supporting product launch activities and providing technical expertise to teams across the business.
Must-Have Qualifications:
10. Degree in Product Design or a related field
11. 5+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing setting
12. Proven expertise in plastic molding processes
13. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
14. Strong understanding of tooling design and construction
15. Excellent communication, project management, and presentation skills
16. Full UK Driving Licence
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
17. Experience with roto-moulded product development
18. Experience with injection-molded product development
19. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
