We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Gastro on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Gastro department.

The successful appointee will be joining a department that currently includes 4 consultants, 2 specialist registrars, 2 clinical fellows, and 3 specialist nurses with responsibilities for inflammatory bowel disease, viral hepatitis, and endoscopy. A number of specialist gastroenterology services have been established at the Trust including ERCP, oesophageal physiology, capsule endoscopy, and fibroscanning. The appointee will be asked to fulfill various duties, such as:
1. Undertaking high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy.
2. Participating in the provision of a high-quality out-patient Gastroenterology service, including patient administration.
3. Attending the weekly multidisciplinary meetings and monthly governance meetings.
4. Contributing to the General Medicine educational programme, including weekly departmental meetings and teaching.
5. Acting as the joint educational and clinical supervisor for SpRs in Gastroenterology.
6. Attending and actively participating in the regular gastroenterology governance meetings.
