Job Title: Production Supervisor - Food/ Fresh Produce Location: Near Howden, East Yorkshire Salary: £33,696 Benefits Hours : 48 hours/week, 5-day rota including weekends and bank holidays Reporting To: Harvesting Manager Role Overview Supporting the Harvesting Manager, you will oversee daily harvesting activities, ensuring high-quality standards, efficiency, and team motivation. This hands-on leadership role includes maintaining hygiene, health & safety compliance, and optimising labour across harvesting operations. You will also cover in the absence of the Harvesting Manager. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and allocate staff within harvesting areas for maximum output Monitor product quality (e.g., size, presentation) Enforce hygiene, health & safety, and product specifications Motivate and train harvesters to achieve performance targets Conduct pre- and post-harvest checks and manage forecasts Ensure accurate documentation and tool control Liaise with other departments to maintain smooth operations Support compliance with food safety (HACCP, VACCP, TACCP) standards Maintain cleanliness using clean as you go principles Support continuous improvement initiatives Key Requirements Supervisory experience in a fresh produce or food manufacturing environment Excellent people management and communication skills Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities IT and numerical competency Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and changing shift times Basic Food Hygiene certificate (required); HACCP (desirable) Benefits 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays) 3% employer pension contribution (after qualifying period) Training and development opportunities Workplace pension enrolment after 3 months Paid overtime for hours beyond contracted 48/week Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
