Are you passionate about protecting the rights of vulnerable individuals? A leading national law firm with a standout reputation in public law and human rights is looking for a Court of Protection (Welfare) Solicitor to join its high-performing team in Southampton, Hampshire.

The successful candidate will be involved in complex and sensitive Court of Protection (welfare) matters, working to uphold the rights of those who lack capacity and navigating issues such as care decisions, medical treatment, and deprivation of liberty.

What You'll Be Doing
Managing your own caseload of Court of Protection (Welfare) matters, including contested and litigated cases.
Supporting senior solicitors on complex or high-value proceedings.
Representing clients in disputes involving residence, care, contact, medical treatment, and deprivation of liberty.
Building strong relationships with advocacy groups, charities, and referrers to deliver exceptional service and drive new instructions.
Contributing to a supportive team culture with a shared commitment to excellence and social impact.
Requirements
A qualified solicitor (NQ-3 years' PQE) with experience or demonstrable interest in Court of Protection (Welfare) work.
A genuine passion for public law, human rights, and access to justice.
Education law experience is desirable.
Strong advocacy, litigation, and case management skills.
Emotional intelligence, resilience, and the ability to support clients in vulnerable circumstances.
A proactive, team-oriented mindset and a desire to grow within a progressive firm.
