The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing freight movements, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and delivered on time. Key Responsibilities Coordinating import and export shipments via road, sea, and/or air Managing full freight documentation and customs paperwork Liaising with clients, hauliers, carriers, and overseas agents Tracking shipments and providing proactive updates to customers Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and industry standards Preparing quotations and negotiating rates where required Resolving delivery issues, delays, or customs queries Key Experience & Skills Required Industry Knowledge Practical experience with international shipping routes Strong understanding of Incoterms Knowledge of customs clearance procedures Documentation & Compliance Experience handling bills of lading, commercial invoices, and import/export declarations Ensuring documentation accuracy to avoid delays or penalties Logistics Technology Proficiency using cargo tracking systems and digital freight platforms Strong computer literacy for managing shipment records and documentation Communication & Negotiation Strong client-facing communication skills Experience acting as a liaison between clients, carriers, and customs officials Ability to negotiate and manage service providers Problem-Solving Experience managing unexpected delays or shipment disruptions Ability to reroute freight and resolve cargo-related issues efficiently Whats On Offer Monday to Friday working hours (9am5pm) Competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience) Supportive working environment Opportunity for a permanent role for the right candidate Career progression within a growing logistics business 5 weeks holidays If you have freight forwarding experience and are looking for your next opportunity in Mallusk, we would love to hear from you.
