Rate of Pay: £13.85- £17.35 per hour
Summary:
As a Grounds Operative, you will be a vital member of the Enabling Services team, ensuring that the Kingsdown and Whitworth Road Cemeteries are maintained to the highest standards of dignity and presentation. This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. You will provide essential grounds maintenance and offer critical support to the burial team, ensuring a respectful environment for visitors and bereaved families.
Responsibilities:
* Execute high-quality landscaping tasks including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and border maintenance using pedestrian mowers, ride-on mowers, and strimmers.
* Ensure the cemeteries remain tidy by removing litter, clearing leaves, and maintaining paths and memorial areas using various hand tools.
* Assist the existing team with the preparation and backfilling of graves, as well as the setup and breakdown of equipment required for funeral services.
* Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, particularly regarding manual handling and the use of power tools in public spaces.
Essentials:
1.
* Proven experience in outdoor manual labour or a similar physical role.
* Competency in operating petrol-powered machinery (mowers/strimmers) and a variety of manual garden tools.
* A valid UK driving license is highly desirable for moving equipment between sites.
