Summary
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician – Moulding (Night Shift) to join our client, a global leader in medical technology. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in resolving complex moulding-related faults, act as a problem solver for the engineering team, and ensure production equipment operates to validated standards.
This role requires strong diagnostic ability, hands-on technical expertise, and the capacity to mentor and support technical associates in a highly automated, fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide technical expertise and assistance to associates in resolving complex machine-related faults.
* Proactively undertake technical diagnostics and implement robust engineering solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Identify and implement improvements to existing equipment, driving health & safety, cost reduction, productivity, and quality gains.
* Ensure all moulding equipment is set up and producing product to established standards and validated settings.
* Participate actively in team meetings, projects, and effective communication between shifts.
* Collaborate with process engineering and support groups to meet production targets.
* Encourage training and development of technical associates on-shift, supporting knowledge transfer from engineering to moulding teams.
* Promote quality workmanship and best practices across the shift.
* Coordinate annual preventative maintenance activities to align with production planning.
The Ideal Candidate
* At least a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment, ideally within moulding.
* Proficient IT skills with experience using SAP to log maintenance, order parts, and analyse faults.
* Strong engineering aptitude with proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Background in hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems (highly desirable).
* Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude and the ability to mentor less experienced associates.
Shift Pattern & Benefits
* Shift: Night shift (11:00 pm – 11:00 am), 3 days on / 3 days off.
* Salary: Competitive base salary plus 48% shift premium.
