LOCATION: Southampton
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £39,800 - £48,367 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE BBC South has a rare opportunity for a Senior Journalist Reporter.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about telling the stories that really matter to our audience. You'll have the ability to share those stories in a creative and dynamic way and recognise how they can be told across different platforms (television, radio and our digital services) in order to reach as many people as possible.
Excellent planning and communication skills are fundamental. The job will involve some shift and weekend working.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
You will find, generate, and develop multi-platform stories that resonate with audiences.
Engage and collaborate with producers/programmes to make sure each platform is aware of stories and has suitable content.
Produce/lead on all content for BBC platforms - online, TV, radio, Sounds and social media.
You will have an understanding of the BBC's editorial guidelines, as well as media law and be able to demonstrate the BBC's values in your work and workplace.
You'll be proactively looking to connect with underserved audiences and ensure that there is a genuine diversity shown through your storytelling.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Strong editorial skills, with demonstratable experience of delivering multi-platform stories.
A self-starter with excellent editorial judgement and organisational skills.
A passion for reaching new audiences through compelling storytelling and a detailed understanding of formats across all platforms.
Someone who is armed with ideas, creativity and enthusiasm and able to prioritise and plan storytelling and adhering to deadlines.
A detailed knowledge of the BBC's editorial and social media guidelines.
