Care Assistant: Role & Responsibilities
* Our Care Professionals are the extraordinary people who do the everyday things that mean so much to our clients. Supporting them to live safer and supported lives in their own homes, you’ll follow individual care plans and assist with personal care, helping clients to bathe, dress, manage incontinence, use the toilet, and supporting them with their medication. You’ll also help with practical tasks like shopping, mealtimes, and housework.
* Helping our clients overcome mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including the use and care of aids/adaptations and personal equipment.
* Assisting with domestic tasks such as making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry, and emptying commodes.
* Helping clients with personal care such as washing, bathing, and toileting arrangements.
* Assisting with eating and drinking by preparing meals, snacks, and drinks, and helping with feeding if required.
* Assisting clients with preparing and administering medication.
Job Description

* Companionship – engaging conversations, activities, and outings to prevent loneliness.
* Personal Care – maintaining dignity and privacy during hygiene routines.
* Medication Management – reminders and assistance as per care plans.
* Nutrition and Mealtimes – preparing meals considering dietary needs and assisting with feeding.
* Housekeeping – light cleaning, laundry, and tidying up.
* Mobility Assistance – safe transfers, walking support, and use of mobility aids.
* Health Monitoring – observing and reporting changes in clients' conditions.
* Social Inclusion – encouraging participation in community activities and maintaining connections.
* Emotional Support – providing empathy, reassurance, and a listening ear.
* Documentation – maintaining accurate care records.
* Safety and Emergency Response – ensuring safety and responding to emergencies.
* Collaboration – working with care teams, healthcare professionals, and families.
Qualifications
What you'll need (besides a cape and superpowers!)
Previous experience isn't necessary. We value your compassion, communication skills, resilience, eagerness to learn, and commitment to respectful care. You must have the right to work in the UK.
