Supply Hive Wales is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming nursery in the heart of Cardiff beginning in the new academic year (2025/2026).This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting the early development of young children in a nurturing and play-based environment.
Responsibilities
* Support the early years practitioners in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities
* Assist with the daily routines including snack time, toileting, and settling in
* Create a safe, caring, and fun environment for all children
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
* Work closely with individual children and small groups to support learning through play
* Help monitor and record children’s progress and development
* Communicate effectively with staff and parents to support children’s needs
Requirements
* Experience working with young children (nursery, early years, or childcare setting preferred)
* A kind, patient, and nurturing approach
* Strong understanding of early childhood development
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work flexibly and use initiative when needed
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years is desirable but not essential
