Night Support Worker – Children's Homes at Witherslack Group
Salary: £32,849 - £35,896 (assuming good attendance)
Hours: Waking nights (4 on / 4 off)
Working in our children’s homes means being part of a young person’s day‑to‑day life. You will be there for the highs and the lows, helping them get their childhood back and creating pathways to become well‑rounded adults. The role is rewarding, challenging, and filled with small victories that have a big impact.
Responsibilities
* Provide 24/7 support to young people, addressing trauma, distress and crises during night shifts.
* Build and maintain trust with young people so they feel safe when they wake unexpectedly.
* Attend to immediate needs such as medication, eating, hygiene and emotional support.
* Maintain the home environment by completing paperwork, cleaning, laundry and other administrative tasks.
* Respond to incident reports and support staff during day and night emergencies.
Qualities & Qualifications
* A ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Empathy, honesty and a genuine care for young people and each other.
* Resilience to manage challenging and unexpected situations.
* Full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
* Experience is not required; a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) will be funded and supported if not already held.
