Job Opportunity: Advanced Care Practitioner in General Surgery
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Care Practitioner in General Surgery to join our team within the Surgery and Families Division. This position is based at our Royal Lancaster Hospital.
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced, acute environment and is committed to delivering high-quality care. The role involves supporting both nursing and medical teams in the assessment and treatment of patients with various conditions. This position requires working seven days a week, including weekends and long days.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as an autonomous practitioner, demonstrating advanced practice and knowledge in patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
2. Conduct health assessments, diagnose, treat, and discharge patients.
3. Provide expert care within protocols and guidelines, with the ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
4. Support team development, serve as a role model, and enhance clinical skills to improve patient outcomes.
5. Function in multiple roles: healthcare provider, educator, researcher, advocate, and clinical governance implementer.
Additional Information:
Our services operate across three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as various community healthcare facilities including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. These facilities offer a range of services, including emergency, urgent care, outpatient, diagnostics, therapies, and surgical services, along with community outreach programs.
